~ A unique blend of contemporary and traditional song from Scotland ~

Ken Campbell’s pedigree as a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist is well established.

Starting over 25 years ago with Glasgow band "Molendinar", and then as a duo with Chris Miller, recording their much commended album "Pipers Maggott" with Topic Records of London, he has toured widely since then throughout Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, UK, with extensive experience of Festivals, Concerts, TV and Radio.

He expanded that duo to become front man of Scottish based “The Ideal Band” and then subsequently toured widely as a duo with Cauld Wind Piper Hamish Moore with whom he still collaborates.

Then with Blair Cowan [Lloyd Cole and the Commotions] and Chas Stewart [Donnie Munro {Runrig} Band] he formed a unique brand of fusion music with "Second City".

Since then he has gone on to tour as a highly respected solo artist in his own right, with two further acclaimed solo albums, "Going Solo" ” for Fellside and "Hand Pict" on his own label, whilst also working as a duo with singer/cellist Wendy Weatherby, and his own "Hand Pict Band".

Two further new albums are due for release in 2009, being a solo CD and also a duo CD with Wendy Weatherby on the Big Sky label.

KC is primarily a singer of contemporary and traditional songs from Scotland, including his own award winning compositions. Instrumentally, always known as an innovator, he has continued to break new ground with finger style 12 string guitar/spanish lute and "C" pitched Northumbrian Pipes made by Colin Ross.

"My songs are all old and new friends, about people, places, history, relationships, that all intertwine with my home country and outwards as a citizen of the world, embracing all the wonderful fascinating and outrageous people, places and situations along the way, that music has taken me to. Please take them and sing them".
